What is an Enrolled Agent?
An Enrolled Agent (EA) is licensed to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. Practice before the Internal Revenue Service involves representation of taxpayers before all administrative levels that include appeals, examination, and collection divisions. Unlike Attorneys and CPAs who may specialize in other areas of practice, Enrolled Agents must pass a comprehensive examination covering federal tax law, theory, and practice in addition to undergoing a strict government background check.
